Our ancestors originally hailed from Normandy in France and Northern Wales, United Kingdom.  Today, they come from Rich Valley and Poor Valley in Virginia, from the mountains in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, from the hills of West Virginia, from Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, from Florida, Michigan, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, from Texas and Arizona, and from other far away places. 

Marriages between the two families have produced a wonderful people, who, through the years, have maintained their kinship through a family reunion.  Since 1982, the offspring of the two families have met annually at the picturesque Hungry Mother State Park, in Marion, Virginia.  They meet on the last Saturday in July of each year to celebrate their kinship with a picnic, camaraderie, and catching up on the latest news.
